Here’s a little about me:
I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Michigan. My husband, Aaron, and I said “I do” six years ago.
We have two littles, Arlo who is almost 6 (Wait, what?!) and Amos who is tw.
Here they are being all cute:
As a family we love to spend time together, eating yummy food, and going on adventures. We are all basically homebodies so we spend a lot of time together.
In the summer you’ll find me in the sun with a book. In the fall, I’ll be cozied up on the couch with a soft blanket, a book (or an Xbox controller. Don’t judge me, okay?), and a hot cup of coffee. Spring and winter are seasons I would love to avoid because going outside results in me getting wet. Although, I am a diehard white Christmas romantic, so I love the beauty of a fresh snowfall.
I like to spend my morning (we’re talking 4 am here) drinking coffee (sweet cream flavor to be exact) and studying the Bible. I also like to catch up on email and read before my boys wake up.
usually always catch me drinking coffee in the late afternoon because, well, I might be addicted. I also stop what I’m doing for anything Harry Potter, book related,
Here’s what you can expect from me:
I like to read books, I like to collect books, I also like to talk about books. So, it goes without saying that I will be creating a lot of content about books and book related things.
My favorite books to read are fantasy, magical realism, some science fiction, and historical fiction. I’m really not a big fan of contemporary fiction. The reason is that I read to escape. I do it by reading stories about worlds that aren’t real or that haven’t been real for a very long time. Contemporary fiction just doesn’t fill that need for me.
I don’t love every book I read (Who does?) But a vast majority of the books I read I do enjoy. I’m also not afraid to DNF a book. I actually DNF’d three books in a row once. I don’t give books a big grace period. If I’m not interested in the first 30 to 50 pages of the book, it’s highly likely that I won’t finish it.
But that’s enough about my reading life.
What can you expect to find here?
Posts about books, i.e.: monthly TBRs, monthly wrap-ups, current reads, book hauls, and posts about the reading life.
These topics are both broad and vague so you don’t really know what you will hear from me, do you? Sorry. All in the name of keeping you interested. 🙂
